10 tips to Start a Spring Fling

Source: Match.com

When snow starts to melt and the thermometer begins to climb, our hearts thaw and body temperatures begin to rise. Time for a spring romance! But after the long, cold winter, you may be out of dating practice.

Here's our quick guide for starting your very own Spring fling.

Listen up, ladies!

1. Show some skin
It's a fact: Men like to look at women's bodies. But don't panic; you don't need to resemble a strumpet or a supermodel. Take advantage of the warmer weather to flaunt bare arms, smooth calves, a little decolletage. Peeling off the layers sends come-hither signals.

2. Throw a "best friends" party
Invite your single woman friends and instruct each to bring along her straight "best buddy," the guy she adores but just isn't attracted to or the ex-boyfriend she still hangs out with. Mix the drinks and the crowd, and watch sparks fly. One woman's castoff or passed-over is another woman's treasure.

3. Get lost
I mean that literally. Nothing sparks romance like a shared adventure in an exotic locale. Have you ever wanted to bike through the Himilayas? Rock-climb in Utah? Deep-sea fish in Alaska? Or even just day-trip with your local Sierra Club chapter? If there's a sporting bone in your body, head for the hills... and check out the boys!

4. Have some class
That is, register for an adult ed course. Cooking, Flamenco dancing, singing... oh, let's be honest — we're all really there to hook up, so why not just call it Dating 101? Join the educated masses and find your love at school.

5. Smile
If all else fails, just practice the ancient art of flirting. All you need is a smile and eyes that can meet another friendly gaze. In the dating game, that's the winning combination.

Giddy up, guys!

6. Polish up your style
Too many guys think dressing for a date means rummaging around in the sock drawer for that last clean pair. Wrong! With all the reconstructed slobs out there, guys can score big points just by looking like they made an effort. So save those ripped t-shirts for boys nights out. When it's date night, give yourself a sartorial edge.

7. Throw a "Spring fling" party. Specify "singles only" on the invites.

8. Storm the beaches
Whether it's Spring Break in Florida or Club Med in Cancun, the shores are stocked with bikini-clad babes on holiday with their six best friends, each one secretly hoping to find a nice guy to rub some SPF-60 into her sun-warmed skin.

9. Get off your butt
You'll never meet a woman if you spend all your free time on the couch watching Monday Night Football reruns. Get out of the house, and go where you're likely to meet women — coffee shops, gyms, adult education classes. If you have to stay compfy on the couch, at least try a quick search.

10. Talk to strangers
Your dream date is probably closer than you think, but you have to make the first move. Approach all contenders with casual, friendly greetings. He or she will be glad you took that first step — and so will you!
